Julie loves Newark!
Julie Del Catancio has deep roots in the Tri-City area. As a youth she spent time walking The Lake, visiting NewPark Mall, and enjoying the many parks and wonderful community center in Newark, CA. She met her spouse, Jeff, in middle school and is fortunate to marry her best friend. She received a public education for K-12.
She earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law, a Master of Science in Administration from Kansas University, a Bachelor's degree from UC Santa Cruz, and a credential from Cal State University Fresno. She brings a diverse educational background. Her thesis is published and on reserve at UC Berkeley where she is a Puente guest speaker.
As an educator with NUSD, and Planning Commissioner, she is immensely grateful to Newark for all the opportunities she found here.
She and Jeff are happily raising their daughter in Newark. Julie Del Catancio is excited to run for City Council to help preserve Newark's wonderful aspects while tackling its toughest challenges.

Newark is an ideal place to raise a family, and to maintain its appeal, we must ensure housing options are available for all income levels, including affordable housing. We can expand our community's housing options by promoting housing and supporting homeowners and small property owners in building accessory dwelling units. Together, we can address this challenge and strengthen our community.
Boosting Local Jobs and Small Businesses
We have a fantastic opportunity to attract thriving industries like tech, biomedical, and more to our local business districts. Situated next to the tech capital of the world, Newark is ideally positioned for growth. Focused on creating sustainable jobs, particularly for our beloved small businesses and the vibrant hospitality sector, this effort promises to bring innovation and prosperity to our community.
